Tim,

What a great idea, turning your blog posts into a book for your kids! I would like to do the same thing. However, I'll have to pick and choose certain blog posts. I don't think my kids want to know about my sex life. LOL

I, too, understand how you feel about the aging process. At 41, ugh I said it, I look at myself in the mirror and see the birth of crows feet. When I look at my hands, I see my mother's hands. So, time really is a funny thing. I'm turning into my mother! lol

The seasons scene is perfect...as is nearly the rest of that movie. This is the movie that made me a fan of Hugh Grant (well, either this one or "About a Boy"), and I was already a big Julia Roberts fan.

My favorite scene is the dinner party of his friends' house near the beginning when he brings Anna as his date. I love the conversation around the table...and how they show Anna acting like a real and relatable (sp?) person. My specially favorite part of that scene is at the end of it when the host carries his wife upstairs. It may be time for a re-watching (I own it on DVD).

Nicely done.

I blog for some of the same reasons-- the main similarity being that I want my daughter to have stories of her childhood (and mine) to read someday. A lot of what I write I think of as a scrapbook that nobody else may enjoy (such as documenting various trips), but I hope they trigger memories for her many years from now...and if nothing else, she'll like the pictures. I turn my blog posts into a book through Blurb at the end of each year-- one for Abby and me; and one for my most loyal reader from the beginning, my dad.

Great article! I would just like to say this article is so accurate and humorous to read. I can completely relate to what you have described here, as I too have purchased this same exact (identical) vehicle. While there are several (major) inconveniences, I guess it is a matter of adapting to them. However, it just makes me want to save up as much money as possible, and pay off my car loan as quickly as possible. That way there a nicer, more well equipped vehicle will be waiting for me in October of 2016 (or sooner.)

Anyways, great article! I really enjoyed reading it, especially since I can 100% relate to everything mentioned here.

Have you driven an SRT-4 Caliber? I would be thrilled to read a review on that.

Keep encouraging that sense of humor! You're exactly right about the intricacies and nuances of language, and of English in particular.

As for our family reunions, I don't have anything else to compare them to, but I suspect you're right. Sometimes they are a soothing balm on cracked and broken skin. Other times, they are a narcotic that I simply can't get enough of. They are always hilarious. - Tim

This fits for my daughter perfectly. She loves making puns and watching our reactions. And I love seeing her make the parallels to which you referred. It shows me her grasp of idioms and all the intricacies of the English language.

The 'Horse of a Different Color' pun was brilliant and would have been at any age, but especially that age. And I love how your younger son set up his 'ex-caliper' move. Nicely done.

You must have the best family reunions ever.
