A Live One: Code-Name “Vegas” February 16, 2006

According to microsoftwatch.com:

Microsoft continues to crank out more Windows Live services. The latest, for which selected testers just received invites, is a “Family Safety Settings” service, code-named “Vegas.”

Now, admittedly, I took my family on vacation a few years ago to Las Vegas, and was pleasantly surprised at how “family friendly it was.” Regardless, the current ad campaign for Las Vegas makes me wonder if the new security model of Windows Vista will be, “If you get your computer infected, that your business, and we’re not going to stop you from doing so. However, we will make sure that you don’t go infecting anyone else.” I’m seeing this as good news for your network, even if it’s not an improvement for your computer.

In other words, “What happens in Windows Vista, stays in Windows Vista.”
