Searching for History in Maui December 27, 2006

While vacationing in Maui, I saw many places of deep cultural significance to Hawaiians. However, some things, we never found.
We found the black sand beach:
We found the lava tube:
But no matter how far down the hiking trail we went, we never found this:
Perhaps this is where Lindberg’s body can be found?
It really means “where the old airport is buried”. Of course you didn’t find it, it’s underground…
I’ve heard of the Underground Railroad. Never knew there was an Underground Airport too. 😀 Thanks again for your vacation tips! – Tim
