Seasons
Coming to life, Spring has a lover’s touch
Battling the frost of wint’ry months
Breaking the frozen soil with warm fingers
A new caress in the April sun
Growing and deepening with Summer’s heat
Drinking deep from storms and showers
Gathering strength, growing, growing
Basking in the glow of longer days
The Summer brings life
And growth brings pain
The nip of Autumn breezes rustles leaves
Stirring up trouble and gathering clouds
Vibrant colors gain hue, then fade
The lingering touch and final fling
The cold, harsh slam of Winter’s door
The golden rays of sun now distant
Separation and pain, shorter days
Longer nights, longer nights, longer nights
The Winter brings death
And death brings peace
