#6-8: Career-Limiting Moves: Vol 1
Over the course of my lifetime, I’ve worked for quite a few companies, large and small. Some of them were run by (legitimate) geniuses, and others, by bozos. Along the way, I’ve occasionally said or done something (usually to get a laugh) that limited my career opportunities–at least with that organization. In some circles, this is known as a “career limiting move,” or CLM. Among my friends, it’s known as “normal Tim behavior.”
Here are three of my more infamous CLMs, all of them performed for the same company:
- Poking fun at the boss for public entertainment
- Poking fun at the boss for private entertainment
- Poking fun at the boss’s ideas for public humiliation (his) and entertainment
